1st time blogger

Yup, I finally got with it and started a blog. But first, the two most important critters in my life!

Yes, the beautiful girl is Mimi. She's about 11 years old and takes her divaness seriously. This picture does not do her blue eyes justice. She is a Husky-Border Collie mix I got from a local humane society. She rarely

barks, and when she does, it sounds like woo-woo! She is the alpha dog and lets her "sister", Molly, know it! She languished at the humane society for months because she was

an "old (about six), big, black dog". I fell in love with her looks, personality, and that she was potty/crate trained! The best way to describe her is with a story.

I have a great vet that I use. Mimi is loved and admired by all of the office staff. Like most dogs, going in to see the vet and getting shots is not a pleasant experience. She behaves reasonably well, and the staff apologizes to her when they stick a needle into her. After the process was done, one of the vet techs offered her a dog biscuit, which she took into her mouth, carried over to my vet, and spit it out on top of his shoe. She then turned with a huff and walked out of the office.

My "sweet little girl" is Molly. She has one blue and one brown eye. She is a five year-old Husky-Lab mix. She had a sad story. She was dropped off at the humane society by a man whose wife told him one day to get rid of all of their animals. Molly was bullied by the other dogs and was underweight and frightened. She was not potty or crate trained and when she met me, she wriggled up to me, turned up on her belly, and peed all over the place. I fell in love with her right away. It took about a year for her to get comfortable in her home with Mimi and I. She has a loving personality and is comfortable in her own skin. She and I go to visit a local nursing home through an organization called Pets on Wheels. Molly has a big fan club there and we love visiting with the residents.
